20 year old cultist arrested for illegal possession of Revolver pistol in Bayelsa

Police authorities in Bayelsa state have arrested a 20  notorious Cultists for illegal possession of a locally made revolver pistol in the state capital.

The command said the suspect, James Loveday was arrest at the Bakery Road, Azikoro, Yenagoa over the weekend by teams of police detectives on a plain cloths.

Before his arrest, the suspect allegedly engaged the people of Azikoro community in sporadic shootings and caused mayhem in the area.

Police in a statement by its spokesman, Asinim Butswat, a Deputy Superintendent of Police DSP said the command received a distress call from a staff of a community secondary school in Azikoro and immediately dispatched a team of plain cloths detectives to the scene.

Butswat said immediately the detectives were dispatch some boys who gathered in the school premises were apprehended and interrogated.

The PPRO said the suspects were arrested at about 14.25 hours and a locally made revolver pistol was recovered from their kingpin, one Loveday.

Following thorough interrogation, James Loveday, Butswat said, has volunteered useful information to the police on crimes and criminalities ravaging the state capital.

He also insisted that huge efforts are bein put in place to arrest his cohorts are the command is not relenting on its Investigations to the crime.
