Nigeria’s former oil minister Diezani Alison-Madueke has been arraigned in court in London following her arrest by the United Kingdom’s NCA last week as part of an investigation into suspected bribery and money laundering, according to BBC report.
Ms Alison-Madueke denied wrongdoing when it was alleged that $20bn of oil money had gone missing when she was in office between 2010 and 2015.
Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has pledged to curb corruption, saying “mind-boggling” sums were stolen during the rule of the former government.
