Akwa Ibom State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has accused the All Progressives Congress, APC-led Federal Government of working underground to fuel the crisis in the party to cripple the opposition in the country.

Publicity Secretary of the Akwa Ibom state chapter of the party, Comrade Iniobong Ememobong, said this in an interview with newsmen in Uyo, saying that, the Presidency has a hand in the lingering crisis in PDP.

Comrade Ememobong, who cited two conflicting judgments in different courts on an issue involving PDP noted that, such judgments were a judicial misnomer just to create disunity in the party.

According to him, the Presidency is capable of doing the unthinkable, stressing, “If not, how would you explain two conflicting judgments where one must be obeyed and the other ignored?”.

On the precarious economic situation in the country, he described the Federal Government as desperate judging from its gross under-performance since assumption of office over a year, adding that the pains the government has inflicted upon Nigerians has further crashed opinion polls to near zero, owing to its numb economic policies.

He also maintained that, “Nigerians will live to regret every vote they cast for President Buhari and the APC,” urging them to issue a quit notice to Buhari for running a government of vengeance, as opposed to the people-oriented government they yearned for.

“At the time President Goodluck Jonathan left in 2015, he recalled, the Nigerian economy was still the best in Africa, with Naira at appreciable level against the Dollar.

“President Goodluck Jonathan left about 8 percent growth in Gross Domestic Product (GDP), now under Buhari, Nigeria is running at a minus and zero growth rates”, he added.

He warned Nigerians to be cautious of the President’s antics, pointing out that, Buhari was recently seeking emergency powers in order to silence opposition to cover up his mistakes in administering the country.

The spokesman however, lamented the payment of half salaries to federal workers without any consideration to the high cost of living in the country.

“Since January, the Federal Government has been paying Federal workers half salary, forgetting that the cost of living in Nigeria is astronomically high with essential goods completely out of the reach of the people”.

While also baring his mind on Edo and Ondo states’ elections, he assured Nigerians that, PDP was working hard to resolve the crisis in the party with a view to having one house.

“It is only an internal crisis that cannot be ruled out in any social setting. The PDP is one big family and we have all it takes to resolve the problems because one year is long enough for the party to put its house in order” dismissing insinuations that, lack of internal democracy was causing crises in the party.

“PDP remains the only party with the best internal democratic process, going by successful congresses the PDP has been conducting since the return of democracy in 1999”, he stressed.
