Bauchi state Primary Health Care Development Agency (BASPHCDA) has distributed drugs worth five million naira to some selected Primary Health Centers (PHCs) in the state .
The Chairman of the Agency Dr. Adamu Gamawa revealed this Monday while distributing the drugs to the representatives of the selected health facilities at the Bauchi Drugs store in Bauchi.
Represented by the Director, Disease Control, Dr. Panti Ahmed, he stressed the State government’s commitment towards providing qualitative and affordable health care services in the state.
He said that health facilities with higher number of out- patients and densely populated areas were the ones benefiting from the gesture.
Dr Ahmed disclosed that donor partners like Clinton Health Initiative (CHAI) gave technical support as well as ORS and Zinc tablets, and some of the items distributed include: Anti-malaria drugs, pain killers, for women and under five children.
Responding on behalf of the recipients, Munira Baba Sale with the Primary Health Centre, State Low cost, thanked the state government for the drugs assuring that they will further boost the services of the health centres in the state.
