Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, would, Saturday, November 28, storm the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign grand finale in Yenagoa as the party presents its flag to candidate, and incumbent Governor Seriake Dickson, in what has been termed ‘Mother of all rallies.’

A statement by the Director of Publicity of the Restoration Campaign Organisation, Jonathan Obuebite, said the mega rally is a culmination of Governor Seriake Dickson’s community-to-community tours, a grassroots campaign which had taken him to the various parts of the state in the last over one month.

“Dickson has been spreading his message of restoration and consolidation of peace, security and development through his re-election,” said the campaign spokesman, adding; ‘the presentation of PDP flag to Dickson and his running mate by the national leadership of the party is a symbolic ritual of his aspiration and support to the people.’

The party statement also said: “Dignitaries expected at the event include members of the PDP National Working Committee, PDP governors both old and present including senators and members of the House of Assembly.”

The event, Obuebite further added, ‘would bring together all critical elements in all the Ijaw speaking states in the country which underscores Dickson’s aspiration as not just a Bayelsa affair but incorporating the strategic interest of all the Ijaws.’

“Bayelsa State is the Jerusalem of all Ijaws and the mother of all rallies will showcase the unity of purpose of the Ijaw people coming together as one and affirming the collective interest and aspirations of the Ijaw race,” he said.

He also disclosed that the leadership and members of the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND) would attend as a pressure group to mount campaign for a free and fair election at the December 5 governorship election.
