Ahead of next Tuesday’s official declaration of interest to contest the 2016 governorship race by incumbent Governor of Bayelsa State, Henry Seriake Dickson, former president Goodluck Jonathan, chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as well as prominent Ijaw leaders are among dignitaries expected to grace the ceremony.

National Chairman, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus, National and state legislators have already confirmed their attendance, just as top figures from the drawn from South / South geo -political zone of the country have indicated readiness to storm the event in Yenagoa, the state capital.

The event is slated for the state sports complex Yenagoa, near Government House.

This is as former Bayelsa state governor, Chief D.S.P. Alamieyeseigha, has described Governor Dickson as a good product to occupy the seat for a second tenure.

A statement by the governor’s Press Secretary, Daniel Markson Iworiso and made public in Yenagoa, quotes Chief Alamieyeseigha as describing Dickson as ‘easy to market for a second tenure in office as Governor of the State.’

Chief Alamieyeseigha stated this when Governor Dickson visited him at his country home in Amassoma in the Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.

” Dickson has performed well and deserves a second tenure to consolidate on the gains of the restoration agenda. It is only a man like Dickson, who has performed creditably well that can bring victory for the PDP in the December 5 governorship polls,” said the former governor.
