Bayelsa NUJ holds inaugural public lecture on DSP Alamieyesigha

The Bayelsa State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), is set to host the inaugural public lecture in honour of late first civilian Governor of the state, Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha.

The NUJ  inaugural lecture  is in recognition of the contributions of Chief Alamieyeseigha to the Niger Delta struggle, demand for fairness and equity in the Nigerian nation.

In a statement signed by the NUJ Training Committee Chairman, Kola Oredipe and Secretary, Judith Young, Professor Benjamin Okaba of the Federal University, Otueke, will deliver the lecture with the theme, “ True Federalism: Panacea for Sustainable Development”.

According to the statement, the event under the chairmanship of former Ambassador to the Scandinavian countries, Dr. Godknows Boladei Igali, will hold on Tuesday, 10th October, 2017 at the Conference Hall of the Press Centre, along Azikoro road, Yenagoa at 10am.

Senator Nimi Barigha Amange and Professor Steve Azaiki are to make  presentations on the life and times as well as the struggles of the late Ijaw icon and Governor-General of Ijaw nation during the lecture.

The former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan and Governor Seriake Dickson are the Special Guests of Honour for the occasion.
The chairman of the state council of NUJ, Comrade John Angese, is the chief host of the event.
