Buhari appoints new CPSO; charges public officers on diligence

President Muhammadu Buhari, Thursday, charged all public officers in the country to justify the confidence reposed in them by carrying out their duties satisfactorily, just as he also announced the appointment of a new Chief Personal Security Officer (CPSO) to his office.
Buhari added that the need to raise their level of performance was the only way Nigeria could get out of the current hardships facing the nation.
According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, the President made the declaration while decorating two of the newly-promoted senior policemen serving in his office with their new ranks.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abdulkarim Dauda was appointed the new Chief Personal Security Officer to the President while Kayode Sikiru Akande is now the Officer in Charge of Presidential Movement respectively.
Both officers promoted from their positions as Assistant Commissioner of Police.
While congratulating the officers, Buhari was said to have urged them to justify their new ranks by increasing their commitment to the service of the nation.
He also commended them for their hard work and achievements which brought about their promotion.
“Buhari stressed that Nigeria needed their dedication and unwavering commitment for it to achieve greatness and assume its rightful position, cautioning them not to abuse their positions,” the statement added.
