In their separate condolence messages to Bauchi State Governor, Isa Yuguda, who lost his mother, weekend President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari has said losing a parent is the most painful stage of one’s life, just as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar said nothing can replace the vacuum created by parents in the life of their children.
General Buhari, who expressed this sentiment in a statement to condole with Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State said he was deeply touched by the death of the Governor’s mother.
According to the President-elect, losing one’s mother is one of the most painful and stubborn memories in the life of children.
He said anyone that lost a parent before could easily appreciate the pains of Governor Yuguda and his siblings over the unfortunate loss of his mother.
The President-elect noted that death is inevitable, and that it is a test of one’s faith to suffer tragedies in life.
He therefore, prayed to God to give Governor Yuguda and the entire members of his family the fortitude to overcome the grief. He also prayed to Almighty God to grant the deceased eternal peace and reward his good deeds with paradise.
On his part, Atiku Abubakar stressed that parents are the most invaluable assets.
The former Vice President, who was reacting to the death of the mother of Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State in a statement by his media office in Abuja, Saturday, said he received the news with profound shock and grief.
As one who was an orphan at vulnerable age, Atiku said he could feel the pain of anyone else that loses parents at whatever stages of their lives.
He explained that he received the news of the demise of Yuguda’s mother with sympathy and empathy, adding that nobody could adequately pay back a parent for the sacrifices they made for their children.
According to the former Vice President, the loss of parents creates a huge vacuum because they are fountains of inspiration and guidance.
He therefore, prayed to Almighty God to grant Governor Yuguda and his family members the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and bless the soul of the deceased.
