With the conspicuous appearance of Abubakar Bawa Bwari, among the second batch of 16 nominees announced by Senate President Tuesday, indications are rife that the earlier submitted name of the immediate past Deputy Governor of Niger State, Ahmed Musa Ibeto, may have been withdrawn.
Ibeto’s name was among the first batch of 21 ministerial nominees sent to the senate by President Muhammadu Buhari on September as unveiled by the Senate President on the floor of the house last Tuesday. However, contained in the second batch of 16 nominees sent to the Senate, Tuesday, was another nominee from Niger State, Abubakar Bawa Bwari popularly called ABB.
Confirming the receipt of 36 names, via his Twitter handle @bukolasaraki, the Senate President, Saraki in a tweet Tuesday evening said: “Today, I presided over the screening and confirmation of 10 of the 36 Ministers nominated by President Muhammadu.”
This has led observers to the conclusion that one name out of the first batch of 21 had been dropped, following another nomination from Niger State in the person Bwari.
Commenting, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Femi Adesina said: “The names of ministerial nominees President Muhammadu Buhari has sent to the Senate for screening, had no states of origin attached to them. As soon as the President does that, it will be made public.”
