Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, along with Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, held a ‘fruitful’ one hour discussion with President Muhammadu Buhari on matters surrounding the nomination of Ms. Aisha Abubakar as a ministerial nominee from Sokoto State.
According to the mood of the meeting, it appears all issues are being resolved.
Ms Abubakar’s nomination as Sokoto State’s candidate in the cabinet of President Buhari had raised objections from some quarters in the state, with calls for her to be dropped, in a similar manner that the Niger State nominee Ahmed Ibeto was dropped.
With what appears to be a resolution of the controversy, therefore, following the meeting between two of the major stakeholders, the coast may now be clear for Ms Abubakar to be screened by the senate which is expected to resume the exercise on those in the second batch of ministerial nominees submitted by President Buhari to Senate President, Bukola Saraki, Tuesday.
