Governor, State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, has said Nigeria requires divine intervention for it to survive the financial crisis caused by the slump in crude oil prices.

While praying for divine intervention, he said Nigerians should also make the fear of God their watchword which according to him, will make the people to depart from corruption and other ungodly acts.
He said, “Salvaging the nation from the ongoing economic quagmire requires creativity, commitment, patriotism and honesty not only by the people in leadership positions but also on the part of the generality of the people.
“This could be achieved through active participation in polity and developmental programmes initiated by government at all levels and targeted at the socio-economic development of the country.”
He stated that his administration would not relent in the efforts to use the state’s resources to continue with developmental programmes in the state.
While calling on the media to collaborate with government in its pursuit to develop the state, he appealed to them to shun falsehood and sensationalism in order to stop heating up the already tensed situation in the country.
