The Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, has approved the appointment of Malam Umar Sa’id Tudun Wada as the new Managing Director of Kano State Radio Corporation.
Announcing the appointment on Thursday in Kano the Commissioner of Information, Malam Mohammed Garba said Tudun Wada replaced the former Managing Director, Hajiya Sa’adatu Muhammad Babaji, who was appointed Special Adviser, Women Mobilization.
The new Managing Director has been a professional broadcaster, media manager and consultant who served in various capacities in media organizations in the country and abroad.
He was the General Manager Operations at Freedom Radio, Kano, Executive Director at Dandal Kura Radio, Maiduguri in Borno.
The new MD was also a Principal Editor at the then CTV now Abubakar Rimi Television (ARTV) , International Broadcaster with Voice of America, freelance correspondent with Hausa and English services of Deutsche-Welle and Editor, Concern Magazine.
He also served twice as Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to former Gov. Rabi’u Kwankwaso as well as Secretary, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kano State Council, among others.
According to the statement, the two appointments are with immediate effect.
