Demonstrators, Sunday, took to the streets in Accra, capital of Ghana, to protest the country’s electricity crisis, which has wreaked havoc in the once bourgeoning economy.
“The government is accused of failing to tackle the problem, which has hit industry and health services,” according to AP in the introduction to a video of the demonstration.
One of the angry demonstrators painted a grim picture of the situation, saying in the video watched last night by a News Express Correspondent: “We get light two days every five days. Businesses are collapsing. If you cook food and put in the fridge it will spoil. This thing has been happening for three years now. Every day we keep getting promises but nothing is happening.”
