House of Reps Speaker, Dogara’s wife, donates hospital items to VVF Center

Over fifty (50) women patients of Vesco Vagina Fistula (VVF) in the North East zone of the country are to be treated free of charge by a Non Governmental Organization, NGO, known as Sun of Hope Foundation in Bauchi.

The wife of the Speaker of the House of Representatives and founder of Sun of Hope Foundation, Gimbiya Yakubu Dogara, revealed this Wednesday while presenting items to assist the VVF patients at the National Obstetrics Centre Ningi in Bauchi state.

Mrs Dogara said that the wife of the President, Hajiya Aisha Buhari, is fully aware of the challenges facing the VVF centre while assuring that the First Lady would soon visit the facility to under take a comprehensive assessment with a view to improve the centre.

According to her,”my NGO will continue to support and cater for women especially the most challenged amongst women”.

She said the medical equipment donated to the Centre include, one theatre bed, five computers for data management, drugs, food and non food materials.

The Speaker’s wife commended the Emir of Ningi, Alhaji Yunusa Danyaya for his personal contribution and support to the hospital, while calling on professional bodies and philanthropists to come to the aid of the patients in Ningi.

In her address , wife of the Bauchi state Governor, Hajiya Hadiza Abubakar, said the items would be used judiciously.

She commended the Speaker’s wife for the gesture and called on other well meaning Nigerians to emulate her.

Speaking also, the Chief Medical Director of the Centre, Dr. Umar Nasiru Ibrahim said they were grateful for the donation.
