‘I executed 13 people,’ 17 year old Boko Haram suspect confesses

A 17 year old arrested Boko Haram suspect who simply identified himself as Ali Mustapha confessed that he has killed 13 people since his abduction and recruitment into the Boko Haram terrorist group.
Speaking in an interview with newsmen Tuesday, when paraded by the commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi, at the NSCDC headquarters Maiduguri, Ali Mustapha said that he was abducted by the group in Marte and later recruited into the sect.
He said he was trained on how to operate AK 47 rifle, and that he killed 13 people in different operations around Marte area, adding that most of the people he killed were arrested and brought to him for execution.
“The Manman Nur faction of the group sent us to Maiduguri on a surveillance mission. We were three in number. While the remaining two were in Monguno I was arrested by NSCDC in Maiduguri,” the suspect said.
The NSCDC commander said they also arrested another Boko Haram suspect who is a citizen of Niger Republic who claimed to be a Nigerian doing nail cutting business but investigations revealed that he is a citizen of Niger Republic and a sum of N273, 000 was found on him.

He also paraded 5 vandals with two vehicles loaded with high tension cables suspected to belong to PHCN. According to him , after loading the cables, they usually cover it with charcoal and firewood, so as to deceive security men at checkpoints.

Another group of criminals paraded were also those who specialize in buying nutrition supplements from Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, and sell to Biscuit making factories in Kano, and a computer specialist who steals computers and mobile phones, especially at the University of Maiduguri.

He assured the general public that the security agencies in the state, particularly NSCDC are working hard to eliminate all forms of crime and criminality and called on the public to be security conscious and report any suspicious movement of persons and objects to the nearest security agency.
