Ibrahim Abubakar, NFF head of protocol shot dead; sports minister, others commiserate with family

The head of protocol, at the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Abubakar , is dead.
The NFF announced, Wednesday morning through its Twitter handle that the protocol chief was shot by armed robbers in his house in Abuja.
“NFF’s Head of Protocol Ibrahim Abubakar was shot dead by armed robbers in his house in Abuja in the early hours of today,”
Late Abubakar remains will be buried in Kaduna today.
The football community has been commiserating with NFF and the family.
Meanwhile, treacting to the killing of the former NFF chief, Minister of Youths and Sports, Solomon Dalung, Wednesday, commiserated with the NFF over the incident after signing the condolence register at NFF Secretariat, Abuja.
Dalung was among the first callers at the secretariat of the NFF, said: “We pray that the Lord will console the family he left behind, the NFF and the entire football family. May God grant him eternal rest. Amen.”
Also, Italy-based , Super Eagles star, Ogenyi Onazi wrote via his Twitter handle, @OnaziOgenyi: “Very sad to hear about the unfortunate loss of Ibrahim Abubakar. Rest in Peace! Our prayers are with the family you left behind.”
