Ahead of the 2016 Governorship election in Bayelsa State, Governor Seriake Dickson has said that he is battle ready to fight his political detractors from the state.

Dickson also said that he remains a People’s Democratic Party Governor, noting that there is no political threats in PDP in Bayelsa state ahead the next poll.

The governor who made this declaration in Yenagoa, the state capital, during the April and May 2015 Monthly Transparency Briefing held at the Government House Banquet Hall, said he is not afraid of any opposition camps in the state

“Tell them (political detractors) that when the time comes we shall know who is who in the state. Wherever they are, they should know that we are battle ready for them. Equally tell them that the countryman governor is ready for them.”

Dickson also described his perceived enemies from the state as ‘politicians that fight for their wives and children and not for the generality of the masses even as the state government is busy building roads, bridges, houses and schools.’

“I challenge them in the National Assembly to showcase how many bills they have sponsored for the past years in the Assembly, except for those of us who mean well for the state are in the PDP and not in the opposition,” the governor stated.

Continuing, Governor Dickson said: “Those days they were hiding under the people that we respect are gone as our state cannot be known for political indiscipline.”

Dickson further said the PDP in Bayelsa state is the only party that won all three senatorial seats to the National Assembly, Fives seats to the Federal House of Representatives and also won twenty seats in the past elections to the state House of Assembly.

“We have demonstrated that there is a PDP in the state that is unshakable,” he said.

Dickson further told Bayelsans that his Restoration government is one of the least indebted states across the country even as the state continuously pays civil servants’ salaries despite the hard economy, adding that since inception in office, his administration has been managing debts incurred from the previous governments.
