JTF parades 4 sea pirates in Bayelsa

The Joint Military Tasks Force JTF, code-named Operation Pulo Shield in Niger Delta has paraded four notorious sea pirates who specialized in terrorizing the water ways of Mbikiri and Nembe, Bayelsa State.

Following their arrest, the Command reassured the public of its vigour and determination in the war against crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism and other forms of criminalities affecting the socio-economic development of the region.

Parading the suspects at the Command’s headquarters in Yenagoa, Commander, JTF Major Gen Emmanuel Atewe said the suspects were responsible for all the attacks and sea robbery activities on Mbiliri and Nembe water ways of the state.

Major Gen Atewe said the criminals usually take advantage of the difficult terrains and manoeuvre in the creeks and unleash attack on their victims including sea travellers.

The commander who was represented by the JTF spokesman and its media Coordinator, Joint Media Campaign Centre Lt Col Isa Ado, said the suspects were arrested on Monday, May 11 and Tuesday 12, 2015.

He noted that the arrest of the sea pirates who are all natives of Brass community will make the waterways safe and conducive for voyage and other economic activities in the region.

The commander insisted that the aim of the parade was to create a public awareness on the activities of the command and the arrest of the four criminal suspects at Mbikiri and Nembe area.

The command gave the identities of the suspects as Robinson Dewarrior aged 22 yrs, David Mhale A.k.a Black Jesus aged 18, Joky Daukoru 17 and Lelegite Dikuro 19 yrs.
