Former Minister of State for Works, Engineer Chris Ogiemwonyi, Monday, urged President Muhammadu Buhari and the  Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) to extend the war against corruption campaign into other Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the country.

Ogiemwonyi, who served in the then administration of ex president Goodluck Jonathan said this following emerging reports on the arms procurement scandal rocking the defence sector.

Ogiemwonyi, who is seeking the governorship ticket to contest the 2016 governorship election in Edo State under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), commended President Muhammadu Buhari for exposing the huge corruption in the arms deal scam involving the former National Security Adviser, Colonel Sambo Dasuki.

The Governorship aspirant advocated jail sentence for those found guilty in the ongoing war against corruption noted that there must not be sacral cow in the fight against

“Whoever is guilty should be dealt with; secondly, the federal government should look into other MDA’s and starting from petroleum, works ministries. EFCC should scrutinize what happened there in the last 7 years of Jonathan and they might even go beyond and look into other probe that have been hanging without sparing any sacred cow.

“By the time we start being selective in dealing with offenders then we will run into problems. If you are found guilty the person should go to jail. I commend Mr President for Dasukigate probe; there would more gates in Nigeria.”

While allaying fears in the state that APC governorship primaries might be skewed in favour of the governor’s preferred candidate, Godwin Obaseki, the former minister stated that the assumption remains unfounded adding that the national and state leadership of the party have assured level playing ground for all aspirants.
