Under-fire National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, has informed members of the party he is sick and currently undergoing medical treatment abroad.
He did not disclose his whereabouts, but noted that President Goodluck Jonathan; Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the party, Chief Tony Anenih; Senate President, Senator David Mark and members of the party’s National Working Committee are aware of where he is.
The former Bauchi State governor, who made the announcement in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Tony Amadi, said he left the country last week and will return as soon as his doctors are satisfied with his medical condition.
Mu’azu has been under intense pressure to relinquish power following the defeat suffered by the party during the last general elections, but he maintains he will serve out his term, which expires, March next year.
“Dr. Mu’azu appeals to party faithful to be patient as the travails facing the party will soon wither away and the party will be a united opposition to the incoming All Progressives Congress for the overall good of Nigeria,” the statement ended.
