My thoughts on the Chibok girls saga By Michael Okebe

Chibok girls.
Chibok girls.

It’s time to put it straight without any atom of fear. Truth be told, we have been deceived a couple of times by some Government officials and I dare say that the media is a major player in this game of deception; setting agenda based on wrong information and analyses.
However, you may choose to disagree with this analysis that has been nursed for over a year. If you do, then prove so logically.
It was said that on 14th April, 2014, about 270 students sitting for WAEC examination, were abducted in Chibok, Borno state by members of the Boko Haram terrorist group. Since then, government officials have continued to make promises to secure the release of the girls that are yet to be fulfilled. Also, the Nigerian military gave hope which was shattered out rightly.
Still nursing the wounds of empty promises, the US intelligence unit that came on a rescue mission, stated that they saw these girls at Sambisa forest, but couldn’t rescue them. The revelation from the US sent jitters to my spine and spurred this write up.
Let us understand this frightening fact; none of the girls that claimed to have escaped from the Boko Haram camp could speak English during interviews. One must then ask: In what language were they writing the WAEC examination? Hausa, right?
How come nobody saw them when they were abducted? The security and residents fled?? Think about it.
One of the testimonies of the girls that escaped said that in the process of conveying them, she ran fast and climbed a tree. One of the terrorists with a gun yelled at her to come down but she refused. Understanding the difficulty, the terrorist left her hanging on the tree and left with others.
How can anyone believe this empty testimony? A terrorist with a gun commanded her to come down from a tree, she did not obey, and he did not waste her life? He must be gracious!
It is also imperative to recall that early last month, a group led by Idris King, described the Bring Back Our Girls campaign (BBOG) as a scam. Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, one of the leaders of the BBOG campaign, took to twitter, describing them as “The President’s Hirelings procured to provoke our peaceful protest.” This further raises doubt on the authenticity of this campaign.
One of the puzzling questions is: who planned all these?? How did it come about??
In 2014, the state of emergency that was declared by then then President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe States as a result of insecurity of lives and properties, became worrisome.
More so, hearing that the president planned to extend the state of emergency, some elements of the opposition, who were not satisfied with it had called for its removal severally and went ahead to try to prove to the world that it didn’t work and as such, should not be extended. This led to the orchestration of a mystery that changed the course of events. The script was successfully carried out carefully.
I, therefore, strongly believe that we should forget this story and move on because there was, ab initio, no abduction and as such, no rescue mission was and will be done.
This is my opinion.
