Ndigbo support for Jonathan, PDP not rewarded – S’East APC

NdigboAll Progressives Congress (APC) South East zone on Wednesday reiterated that the support Ndigbo have given President Goodluck Jonathan and the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has not been rewarded.

Spokesman of the party in the South East zone, Osita Okechukwu, re-echoed this while addressing APC supporters at a road show in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Okechukwu asked Jonathan where Ndigbo got it wrong by voting for him massively in 2011 presidential election.

He maintained that Ndigbo deserved a better deal for supporting Jonathan in 2011 and not uncountable broken promises.

“I am asking this question when news filtered in of how thousands of dollars were doled out to traditional rulers, clergy and other eminent persons in the North and South West of the country in the Jonathan Bazaar, while few thousands of naira are doled out to their counterparts in Igbo land.

“I am yet to read a refuttal from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organization after major newspapers reported the Jonathan Bazaar, where some Obas and Emirs were reported receiving per piece $250,000.’

“Are Ndigbo wrong in putting all our eggs in one basket? Look at how Jonathan awarded multi- billion contract for the construction of Loko-Owete the Benue river bridge similar to the 2nd Niger Bridge. The Loko-Owete bridge is nearing completion while the 2nd Niger Bridge is under questionable toll bridge bond,” Okechukwu said.

He recalled that President Jonathan during the electioneering of 2011 promised to go on exile if the 2nd Niger Bridge was not completed by the end of his tenure in 2015.
