Police boss visits Anambra in preparation for election

Thursday, 19/10/2017, at about 1400hrs, the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of operations, DIG Joshiak Habila psc paid an official visit to Anambra State Police Command for a  fact finding mission in order to have a first hand information on the level of preparedness of the Command for the November 18,2017 Gubernatorial election in Anambra State.

The DIG observed a Sentry guard mounted in his honour by the Command and thereafter addressed senior officers on strategies to be employed in order to ensure a peaceful and hitch free gubernatorial election in the State.

He also commended the Commissioner of Police Anambra State Police Command, CP Garba Baba Umar for the State of facilities in the Command and crops of officers he met on ground.

Responding, the Commissioner of Police CP Garba Baba Umar thanked the DIG for the visit and assured him of the Command’s readiness to ensure safety and security, before, during and after the Gubernatorial elections in the State. He further stated that the Command is enjoying an excellent working relationship with other Sister agencies in the State, noting that a joint operational control room would be created for effective monitoring throughout the election period.
