The chairman of the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Felix Obuah says public servants in the State need special commendation for their courage and perseverance.
Prince Obuah made the observation in a message signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Jerry Needam to the Workers to mark this year’s Workers Day celebration.
According to the PDP chairman, the State Workers stand out among their peers and colleagues across the country as the most courageous and committed despite the uncaring attitude of the outgoing regime of Governor Chibuike Amaechi and the backlog of arrears of salaries and allowances owed them.
While wishing them a happy and successful Workers Day celebration, the PDP boss said all hope is not lost so long as there is life to change all their misfortunes which he believes were brought about by bad leadership and selfishness.
He reassured the workers of a better deal and welfare package under a focused PDP-led government in the State.
To actualize all this and establish a stronger economic foundation necessary for good governance and development, Prince Obuah enjoined the workers and indeed, all Rivers residents to give their maximum support to the incoming administration of the State Governor-elect, Chief Barr Nyesom Wike who has passion for improved Workers’ welfare and happiness.
“I’m sure next year’s Workers Day will be better and celebrated with greater funfair when the Wike administration would have fully taken off”, the PDP chairman, Prince Felix Obuah assured.
