The Senate, Saturday, expressed shock over the sudden death of Senator Ahmed Zanna. In a statement announcing his death, Senate spokesman, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe said Senator Zanna died in Abuja in the early hours of yesterday in Abuja.
Senator Zanna represented Borno Central of Borno State in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Senate according to Abaribe was shocked over the death Senator Zanna this time when the Senate is about rounding off the 7th session.
Senator he said would be remembered for his love of his state particularly the people of Senator district.

Senate consoles the family, Borno Central district and the government and people of Borno State.
President of the Senate Senator David Mark expressed grief over the death of Senator Ahmed Khalifa Zanna who until his death represented Borno Central in the upper legislative chamber.
Reacting to the demise of Zanna in Abuja on saturday, Senator Mark said his death is one too many.
The President of the Senate noted that Zanna was a gentleman who was very mindful of his legislative assignments and the welfare of his constituents and the nation at large.
He described late Zanna as a fine parliamentarian who contributed his quota to the success of the 7th Senate.
The Senate President lamented that Senator Zanna would have waited till the end of the 7th Assembly in a few days time but God knows the best time for a man to be born and when a man should die.
According to Mark:”Senator Zanna’s death coming a few days after the demise of Senator Uche Chukwumerije is a big blow to the Senate and the nation. This is certainly not the best of times for us. These deaths in quick succession is heart breaking.
” We cannot question the will of the Almighty . We can only ask that our Creator give us the fortitude to bear this sad loss and grant the deceased eternal rest”.
On his part, Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu expressed deep sadness over the death of the Senator representing Borno Central Senatorial District, late Senator Ahmed Zannah.
Senator Ekweremadu was attending the 74th Ordinary Session of the ECOWAS Council of Ministers in Accra, Ghana when news of the sad event broke, said Senator Zannah’s death was a sad loss not only the Senate, but also the nation.
The Deputy President of the Senate said: “Senator Zannah’s death, coming on the heels of the recent death of late Senator Uche Chukwumerije is indeed a double blow to the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He was a dedicated Senator who made his constituents and the entire nation the centerpiece of his legislative odyssey. He will be remembered for his patriotism, forthrightness, experience, and legislative excellence”.
Senator Ekweremadu prayed God to grant the Senate, the good people of Yobe State, and indeed the nation the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. He also prayed for the peaceful repose of the late Senator.
