Tambuwal hails Dogara, NASS on passage of North East Development Commission Bill

Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has commended Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara for sponsoring the North East Development Commission Bill.

Speaking at a two-day Legislative Summit for Economic Recovery and Sustainable Development organised by the House of Representatives’ Adhoc Tactical  Committee on Economic Recession  in Abuja Monday, Governor Tambuwal said the Speaker deserved to be commended by all and sundry for his initiatives and commitment towards addressing the plight of the violence ravaged region.
“I want to specially  and particularly commend and congratulate, Speaker Yakubu Dogara for sponsoring the North East Development Commission Bill that was signed into law recently by the President,” Tambuwal said.
“I must also commend the National Assembly and particularly the House of Representatives for this very wonderful initiative.”
Speaker Dogara who conceived, drafted and sponsored the bill in December 2015; had also in August of same year  moved a motion on the urgent  need for the rehabilitation, recovery, reconstruction and resettlement of the North East.
The Speaker has also been advocating the convocation of an international donor conference for the total rebuilding of the region as done for Kosovo, Afghanistan,  Iraq and Syria.
He has also been visiting various Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, camps across the country where he donates relief materials and gives them words of encouragement.
