Speaking on the occasion, Gov Ishaku said he was greatly pained by the murder of the legislator who he described as humble and hard working. Gov Ishaku said his administration did everything possible to save the Legislator but regretted that his abductors failed to spare him.
He urged security agencies to cast their dragnet wide in order to arrest the criminals that committed the murder.
Gov Ishaku urged Tarabans to pray for the family of the late Ibi and to become more watchful and mindful of strange visitors to their communities.
Gov Ishaku urged the people not to take the laws into their hands, adding that what happened was not an ethnic matter but rather a crime committed by common criminals.
