The Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has commended the Chancellor of Gregory University Uturu, Nigeria, Prof Gregory Ibe, for partnering government in the fight against COVID-19.
Speaking through the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Barr Chris Ezem, while receiving the first batch of COVID-19 donations by the Chancellor, the Governor, accordin to a statement by Ogbonnaya Sleek Ogwo, implored other privileged Abians to emulate the good example of Prof. Ibe.
Items delivered in the first batch of donations include 850 bags of rice and two ambulances. Some members of the state Inter-Ministerial Committee on Coronavirus, including the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Joe Osuji, and his counterpart in the Ministry of Science and Technology, Hon. Madumere observed the handover ceremony.
