The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has sent out heartfelt gratitude to the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo for their efforts in ensuring that its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was produced in Court by the Federal Government.
In a release signed by the group’s Director of Media and Publicity, Emma Powerful, the group also reiterated its demand for the unconditional release of its Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
In what could be described as a general note of thanks to all individuals and notable groups that played one role or the other in ensuring that the Federal Government produced the Radio Biafra founder in Court, Emma Powerful specially thanked members of Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s special Monitoring Team to the trial led by former governor of Anambra State, Chief Chukwuemeka Ezeife (Okwadike). They also thanked Chief Goddy Uwazurike who is also a member of the team.
Recall that Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide led by Ambassador Professor George Obiozor had left nothing to chance in its determination to get the Federal Government through the Department of State Security (DSS) to produce Nnamdi Kanu in Court, especially, when there were strong indications that there were plans to keep the Biafran agitator from appearing in Court even with a subsisting court pronouncement demanding that he be produced in Court.
The significance of the IPOB leader’s appearance in court, among other things, reassured his admirers and supporters across the world that he is alive and in good spirits and goes a long way in debunking mischievous reports in some quarters that he is either sick or had been flown out of the country.
While the apex Igbo sociocultural organization continues to explore every diplomatic and legal means towards securing the immediate and unconditional discharge of Mazi Kanu, it has also continued to engage major stakeholders to ensure a sustainable return of peace to the entire South East zone.
