COVID-19: Amb. Okoyen leads African Diplomatic Group in Cuba to make presentation to host government (See pictures)








The cheque, which was presented on Thursday, November 18, 2021 is a donation by the Group as humanitarian support to the host government in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The fund is expected to assist with purchase of supplementary medicines and equipment through the UNDP project on COVID -19, to cover at least 6,000 inhabitants of Cuba for six months.
Two Deputy Ministers and other top officials from the Cuban Government, officials from the United Nations office as well as members of the African Diplomatic Group in Cuba were in attendance at the ceremony.
Ambassador Okoyen, who also has concurrent accreditation to Bahamas, Honduras and Nicaragua, was Nigeria’s Consul General in New York, United States of America (USA) before his recent posting to Cuba.
