It was a week of exceeding joy for the entire members, friends and associates of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Dominion Cathedral, New Jersey, United States of America (USA) as they celebrated the Church’s Silver Jubilee which had as theme: “Exceeding Grace” (1 Tim. 1:14).

The Church, which turned 25 on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 rolled out the red carpet for Special Guests and members of the Church at special events to commemorate the historic Celebration.
There was an Anniversary Banquet on Friday, April 8, 2022 at the Hanover Manor, 16 Eagle Rock Ave, East Hanover, which was Chaired by the Consul General of Nigeria in New York, Ambassador Peter Lot Egopija. There was also the inauguration of a Prayer School on Saturday in the Church by the Assistant General Overseer (AGO) of the RCCG and Continental Overseer, The Americas, Pastor (Dr.) James Fadel, and the grand finale and Celebration Service of the Anniversary program on Sunday, April 10, 2022 in the Church’s Auditorium at 180 Main Street, Orange, New Jersey.
It was, indeed, joy galore every step of the way with Anniversary greetings pouring in on Wednesday, April 6; sumptuous dinner, good music, awards presentation, launch of the glossy special edition of the Church’s magazine and rib cracking jokes by popular Christian Comedian, Holy Malam, who was the Master of Ceremony (MC) at the Banquet.
Senior Pastors from across the United States of America and beyond graced the occasion which also had Reverend Derrick L. Green, founder of the Interfaith Action Movement (IAM) and a close confidant of New Jersey Governor, Phil Murphy in attendance. Members of the IAM group were also very well represented.
The Sunday Celebration Service was equally very colorful and impactful, with the Word ministration by Pastor (Dr.) Fadel on the theme of the Anniversary program. Before then, the representative of Gov. Phil Murphy of New Jersey, Rev. Green, had communicated the good wishes of the Governor and his wife to the Senior Pastor of RCCG Dominion Cathedral, Pastor (Dr.) Toyin Laoye and the entire Church.
Rev. Green, who said the Governor would have loved to be physically present expressed the appreciation of the State’s first citizen to Pastor Laoye for her support, wise counsel and prayers, noting that New Jersey is a better state because of the presence of RCCG Dominion Cathedral in the State.
The Service also had in attendance, gaily dressed Mama Africa, Council President Emeritus, Mildred Crump and other State and Council officials, who had glowing testimonies to share of the positive impact of RCCG Dominion Cathedral in the Community.
Pastor (Dr.) Laoye was presented with a Resolution by the City of Newark Municipal Council of New Jersey, signed by all the Council members for the positive impact being made by the Church in the Community. She also got a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Donald M. Pane, Jr., Member of Congree representing the District. The City of Orange was equally well represented and shared in the joy of the moment with the Church and the Senior Pastor while also expressing appreciation for the transformative role RCCG Dominion Cathedral has played in the City.
A Consul from the Nigerian Consulate in New York, Mr. Okechukwu Iroamachi, was also part of the Anniversary Celebration Service and wished the Church and the Pastor the best.
At the end of the glorious Service, Pastor Dele Komolafe, the Presiding Overseer of the Kingdom Harvest Church in the United Kingdom (UK) said the closing prayers after which the celebrations continued.
