Donald Trump gives hint of 2024 presidential bid as U.S. voters head to polls today for crucial midterm elections

Washington, Nov. 8, 2022
Former U.S. President Donald Trump has hinted that he would soon launch another bid for the White House.
He said to a campaign rally on Monday that he would make a very big announcement on Nov. 15.
This is as U.S. voters head to the polls for midterm elections today, Tuesday, that would have a powerful effect on the final two years of Joe Biden’s presidency.
The outcome of the election would shape the policy on issues from government spending to military support for Ukraine.
Speaking on the eve of the midterm elections, Trump said he would make an announcement at his Mar-a-Lago Resort in Palm Beach, Florida on November 15.
“We want nothing to detract from the importance of tomorrow (today).
“This incredible journey that we are on together has only just begun,’’ he said.
According to Trump, Republicans would take back the House of Representatives.
“We’re going to take back the Senate.
“And we’re going to take back America.
“And in 2024, most importantly, we are going to take back our magnificent White House,’’ he added.
Trump spoke the day before midterm elections, where eligible voters were set to determine the majorities in the U.S. Congress, composed of the House of Representatives and the Senate, as well as deciding on numerous governorships and other important offices.
His comments stoked speculation that he was headed for a rematch against President Joe Biden, in 2024.
Biden has not formally announced whether he would seek re-election in 2024.
Midterm elections
Eligible voters would determine the majorities in the U.S. Congress, the country’s two legislative chambers, the House of Representatives and the Senate.
As well as deciding on numerous governorships and other important offices.
Voters may punish the Democrats, who currently control the White House and Congress, against the backdrop of surging inflation and headwinds for the economy.
The party in power traditionally suffers losses in the midterms.
If the Democrats lose their majority in Congress, Republicans are likely to block the majority of Biden’s policies until the next presidential election in November 2024.
According to opinion polls, the House of Representatives is likely to go to the Republicans.
In the Senate, meanwhile, a close race is expected.
Biden has repeatedly warned against Republican candidates openly questioning or even denying election results.
