Stanbic IBTC Holdings has donated relief materials to the Plateau State Government for onward distribution to victims of recent attacks in the state.
Dr Demola Sogunle, Chief Executive, Stanbic IBTC Holdings, who handed over the items on Thursday in Jos , also presented a condolence letter to the state government.
Sogunle, who was represented by Mrs. Amina Ibrahim, Relationship Manager, Public Sector Group, North Central, said that the gesture was in line with the Stanbic  IBTC’s initiative of reaching out to people in the communities they operate in.
According to him,  whenever sad occurrences happen, Stanbic IBTC tries to go out to support the community.
“This is part of our corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives in states where we operate across Nigeria.
“It is in this line that we are here this evening to make this presentation of food and non-food items.
“We are presenting 40 bags of rice, 50 bags of maize, 20 bags of beans 20 cartons of vegetable oil, 100 blankets, and 50 mattresses,” he stated.
Mr. Sunday Abdu, Executive Secretary, Plateau State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), who received the items on behalf of Governor Caleb Mutfwang, thanked Stanbic IBTC Holdings  for the gesture.
Abdu appreciated the organisation for assisting the needy and prayed for the bank to excel more, increase in size, and also to be able to meet other needs that were staring them in the face.
“Today we will assure you that SEMA will do justice to this gesture by taking these materials directly to the beneficiaries.
“Of course I must put it on record that Plateau is not happy to be receiving this kind of gesture because of crises or because of attacks.
“It is our prayer that these attacks will cease and that people will be allowed to do their businesses.
“We are farmers that will go to their farms joyfully, but that notwithstanding, we appreciate this kind gesture,” he added.
