Mr. Peter Obi has congratulated track star, Tobi Amusan, on her emergence as the world’s fastest woman in the 100m hurdles after racing a world-leading 12.40 seconds at the Jamaica Athletics Invitational.
Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State, said in his X (former Twitter) handle that “as we rejoice with Tobi over this global feat, her victory reminds us of the need to invest more in our sports sector, which serves as a means of creating employment and revenues for our teeming talented youths, as well as serving as a unifying force in our great nation.”
He noted that “many of our youths have gained global recognition through sports. A New Nigeria is possible, as we continue to invest in the future of our youths.
“Congratulations to you once again Tobi Amusan, and to every Nigerian making sincere efforts to excel in life. We are proud of you. -PO.”
