APC chieftain in A’Ibom cautions on planned protest

Sen. Ita Enang, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has cautioned on the planned protest, urging that Nigerians should have confidence in the President Bola Tinubu – led administration to deliver on his campaign promises.

Enang, who said this while briefing newsmen in Uyo on Sunday, noted that the President is ever ready to address all complaints concerning the planned protest.

He said the fact remains that Nigerians have the right to hold peaceful protest, but that the fear of it being hijacked by hoodlums could not be ruled out.

Enang, who was Senior Special Assistant to former President Muhammadu Buhari on Niger Delta Affairs, urged Nigerians to exercise patience, as the Federal Government is doing everything  possible to improve on the welfare of the citizens.

“Let me appreciate the way the Federal Government is handling this matter because the FG has not dared the public, it has not dared the planned protesters.

“The President, Ministers and leaders of APC, like myself, have come out to speak on the protest to avoid harm and the breaching of the rights of the people.

“The Government is also listening to the people to know what they want and how to handle and address the issues accordingly.

“The President is ready to address all complaints concerning the planned protest,” Enang said.

Enang also called on Nigerians to join hands with Mr. President and those in government to proffer solutions to the economic crisis facing the nation.

He said that with the economic policies put in place by the President, Nigeria will be back on track for a better tomorrow, urging those planning to protest to shelve their action in the national interest.
