Manchester City youngster Kelechi Iheanacho and Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi have now been officially handed their potential international debuts in the Super Eagles’ roster for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Swaziland.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had initially announced a list of 23 players, Thursday, without the former under-17 and under-20 playmaker.
But the football federation revealed later that head coach, Sunday Oliseh, has invited the Iheanacho.
“Coach Sunday Oliseh invites Manchester City striker Kelechi Iheanacho,” the NFF announced.
Iheanacho was first called up to the Super Eagles by Keshi before the 2014 African Nations Championship (CHAN) but the player opted out in order to join up with English side, Manchester City at the time.
The Nigerian forward has made seven appearances for Manchester City this season and has scored twice and returned with two assists.
