Behold Nigeria’s first female Governor!; I’ll appeal the judgement – Gov. Ishaku

Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar Saturday declared Al-Hassan winner of the April 11, 2015 general election after annulling the election of current governor, Mr. Darius Ishaku who was candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) on the ground that he was not fielded by a political party, since he did not emerge from any primaries.
Danladi declared Al-Hassan winner, being that she scored the second highest votes after Ishaku and ordered that she be sworn-in as winner of the election.
Alhassan had approached the tribunal challenging the victory of Governor Ishaku in the Taraba State governorship election.
In arriving at its decision, the Tribunal said it relied on the reports of the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), which said that the PDP did not conduct any primary election for the Taraba State Governorship Election.
The judgement was greeted with jubilation by APC leaders and their supporters but has been condemned by the PDP and its leaders and supporters.
Governor Ishaku himself has said that he would appeal the judgement, urging his supporters and the people of the state who he insists gave him their mandate freely to be calm and law abiding while awaiting the outcome of his appeal.
