Trump threat: Ask for 100 days, order Service Chiefs to sack terrorists, sponsors in 90 days or resign, Adeboye tells Tinubu

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has called on President Bola Tinubu to “move fast, move diplomatically, and move wisely” to convince President Donald Trump of the United States of America (USA) to delay for 100 days whatsoever action he is planning concerning the Islamic terrorists in Nigeria.

President Trump recently designated Nigeria a “Country of Particular Concern” and has threatened to not only impose economic sanctions on the country but to move in his military to eliminate the terrorists that are slaughtering Christians unless the leadership of the country stops them immediately. Trump has already given the US Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth the marching others and Hegseth seems eager to move immediately.

Pastor Adeboye, who was addressing members of his congregation immediately after the November 2025 Holy Ghost Service on Friday night, said that once President Tinubu succeeds in getting Trump to stay action, he must immediately direct the new Service Chiefs to get rid of the terrorists, and all their sponsors, however highly placed they may be, within three months (90 days) or resign their positions.

The theme of the Holy Ghost Service was “The Eve of Glory,” and it was attended by a capacity crowd of worshippers at the Redemption City on the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State, as well as by many online worshippers.

The Cleric, who acknowledged that President Tinubu inherited the current security crisis from past administrations of the country, however, pointed out that what is at stake now is for the problem to be solved immediately, warning that government must not expect that China, Russia, Britain or any other foreign power will come to defend Nigeria in the event of a US military action in the country.

According to him, the best that these foreign powers can do will be to issue statements condemning in strongest terms the action of the US (if such action is taken), insisting that the present challenge confronting the country is not a time for joking, or a time for grammar, semantics or arguments as to whether the terrorists are killing only Christians or Christians and Moslems.

He contended that whoever wrote the speech the President delivered recently which gave the impression that all is well in the country and that the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) have returned to their ancestral homes does not like the President, stressing that it seems like several people around the President are not telling him the truth about the situation on ground.

Pointing out that God had from the beginning of the year given indications as to what was going to happen in the country by directing a 100 days fast, as well as by the prophecy that the wind that started blowing last year will blow more violently in this landmark, remarkable year, the General Overseer pointed out that notwithstanding his personal opinion, shared with members of his congregation, he is still subject to whatever official position the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), which the Church belongs to, adopts.

He said that he had always done his bit, quietly, in terms of advising past governments on the way out of the security crisis, noting that during the General Muhammadu Buhari presidency, Buhari had given his Service Chiefs a three month ultimatum to get rid of the terrorists or resign but did not follow through with the ultimatum when the goal was not achieved, stressing that he drew the now late President’s attention the fact that he did not take further action after the expiration of the three months ultimatum.

Another opportunity has presented itself for the resolution of the crisis, and according to Pastor Adeboye, given all the prayers that have been invested in the search for peace, what is certain is that God will, on way or the other ensure that there is peace in the country.

He noted further that God has reassured, through the choice of the theme for the upcoming Holy Ghost Service in Abuja, “Fear Not,” that there is nothing for His children to be afraid of, as assuredly, there will be peace in Nigeria.
