In a statement shared on his social media page on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, Obi said he set out as early as 6:30 a.m. from his office in the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) to engage with residents and promote what he described as people-focused leadership.
His first stop was Abaji Area Council, where he campaigned alongside Dr Mohammed Ibrahim, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) chairmanship candidate. Obi said he spent about one hour walking through the community, listening to residents and discussing their concerns.
He later moved to Kwali Area Council to support Hon. Jeremiah Badoji, the ADC chairmanship candidate. According to Obi, he again spent time walking among the people, stressing that leadership must be close to the people and rooted in their daily realities.
The former governor also visited Zuba, where he canvassed support for Pharmacist Iko Danjuma, the ADC chairmanship candidate for Gwagwalada Area Council. He then proceeded to Deidei Market, where he met with traders and residents while campaigning for Dr Moses Paul, the ADC chairmanship candidate for AMAC.
Obi said the visits were aimed at promoting inclusive development that touches all sectors of society.
“A new Nigeria is not just a dream; it is a possibility,” he said.
