Former presidential candidate and ex-Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has officially moved to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The former Minister of Defence completed his registration and received his membership card on Monday in Kano, marking a new phase in his political journey.

Several top political figures were present at the event, including David Mark, Aminu Tambuwal, Rotimi Amaechi, Peter Obi, Dino Melaye, and John Odigie-Oyegun, among others.

Kwankwaso had earlier announced his resignation from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), stating that the decision was necessary due to ongoing changes in the country’s political space.

He described his exit from the party as difficult, considering his long-standing relationship and commitment to it. However, he explained that the current political situation requires a new direction and alignment with a platform that offers better chances of making a meaningful impact.

Kwankwaso also appreciated the leadership of the NNPP, including its National Chairman, Ajuji Ahmed, as well as party members and supporters for their support during his time with the party.

He assured his followers that the goal remains to work together with other like minds towards building a better and more prosperous nation.
