Police authorities in Bayelsa state have confirmed the abduction of one Mrs. Beauty Siasia, the 72 year-old mother of former International and coach of the National U-23 team, the Dream Team, Samson Siasia, by unknown gunmen in Odoni community of the state.
The command said Madam Beauty Siasia was kidnapped, Monday, by a three-man gang early Tuesday morning by three armed men on motorcycles, and whisked away to an unknown destination.
The victim, police said, hails from Odoni Community in Sagbama council of the state.
Spokesman for the Bayelsa State Police Command, ASP Butswat Asininm, said the command has intensified efforts to rescue the kidnapped victim and arrest the suspects.
Meanwhile, coach Samson Siasia has appealed for the return of his mother
“We’ve already reported the incident to the police in Bayelsa but I only beg them to please release her unhurt,” Siasia said, adding; I was told they shot sporadically into the air before taking her away on a motorcycle.
“We’ve not heard from them to know their motive, but right now I’m only concerned about her safety.”
Similarly, police said the command has foiled the kidnap of the Paramount ruler of Gbarain Kingdom, His Royal Highness Gabriel Akah
Police said ‘it foiled the attempt on the 15 November, 2015, at about 2300hrs as some unknown gunmen stormed his residence.’
The PPRO said the policemen and community youths successfully repelled the attackers.
“However, one Antu Onoyo ‘m’ 37yrs, Obafemi Kayode 27 yrs and Kayode Adeniji 29 yrs, all of Gbarain Community sustained bullet wounds in the process and are responding to treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Yenagoa.’
