The U17 Women National Team, Flamingoes, again failed to play a coordinated game and were left rueing a 0-0 draw with England in their second match of the 5th FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in Jordan.
Playing at the King Abdullah II International Stadium, Amman, the Bala Nikyu girls were poor in the final third and ended up with a single point after two matches, with their chances of qualification on the wire.
England, who played a 3-3 draw with Korea Republic on the opening day, moved to two points, ahead of the clash between Korea Republic and Brazil in Group B.
Although the Nigerian girls still have a mathematical chance of progressing into the knock –out stages, their fate is no longer in their hands. They play Korea Republic in their last group phase match on Saturday.
