
The National Universities Commission[NUC] has approved that Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, should mount Programmes in the Faculties of Engineering, Environmental Studies and Education.
In a letter to the Vice- Chancellor, signed Dr. Gidado Bello Kumo, Director of Academic planning, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, the commission approved that the University mounts Programmes in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
It also approved that the institution mounts Programmes in Architecture and Estate Management in the Faculty of Environmental Studies. Information and Library Studies was also approved for faculty of Education. The letter stated that the approval was the results of ‘evaluation visits carried out by panels of experts to some academic programmes of the University with a view to assessing the human and material resources available their establishment’. The Commission was satisfied with the personnes and facilities put in place for the programmes. It, however, stated that the programmes are to run as full time courses in the main campus.
The Vice-Chancellor, Rt. Rev. Professor Dapo Asaju, said the programmes, as stated in the NUC letter, will commence with the 2018/2019 academic calendar. He said the Commission had sent various Accreditation Teams to the University recently, stating that all the courses offered by the University have received full accreditation from the National Universities Commission[NUC].
