Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, has called on Nigerians to be patient with the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government on its change mantra, just as he also sought the public’s understanding of the administration’s goals.

Dogara made the plea at the official flag –off and launching of the Economic Empowerment Programme Initiative of Hon. Ahmed Yerima, the Member Representing Misau/Dambam Federal Constituency in Misau Local Government Area of Bauchi State, added that ‘it will be over very soon.’

“We, therefore, urge Nigerians irrespective of their backgrounds to exercise patience with the government towards the country’s re-birth in his renewed commitment to clean the mess of PDP government.”

“Be patience with Buhari as it’s not a day’s job to clean the mess of 16 years of PDP sojourn because he needs adequate time to put everything in place,” he said.

President Buhari, he said, has ‘so far compensated Bauchi State with key appointments which are enough to provide or influence dividends of democracy to the citizens and the state.’

According to him, the President is determined to rid the country of corrupt public office holders just as he expressed the belief that the parliament is always ready to support Buhari’s resilience on the fight against corruption.

Dogara who also appealed to public office holders under the APC administration to empower their people in line with the party’s change mantra stressed that Nigerians ‘should stand to blame their representatives where they failed to provide meaningful economic development in tandem with their yearning and aspirations.’

According to him, the occasion marks an assurance that Misau/Dambam constituency’s representative ‘is a tested and trusted representative of the people towards economic development’ as he therefore, sought the support of people in the state as well as Nigeria especially for peace and tranquillity apparently to surmount the currents challenges of governance.

The Member, Representing Dambam Misau, Hon Ahmed Yerima, has disbursed fund totalling N25 million to 1,480 beneficiaries who are mostly petty traders in his constituency under his Economic Empowerment Programme Initiative.

“This is to empower and boost their trade in one way or the other and to encourage the beneficiaries. This is just the beginning of the programme, and it will be a continuous programme, I urge the beneficiaries to ‎make judicious used of the empowerment package,” Hon Yerima said.
