Ahead of the rally by the presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmd Tinubu in Sokoto, indications have emerged that a top political bigwig in the State, Alhaji Umoron Sokoto) will be leading scores of his supporters to join the train of APC Thursday, sources confirmed.

Jarma, who is a grassroots politician commands massive political support and goodwill in Sokoto and has remained solidly behind most electoral successes of politicians in Sokoto State.

Confirming his declaration of support for the APC ahead of the February general elections, the reliable source who preferred anonymity, said, Jarma is likely to pull two of the current Senatorial candidates of the PDP with him to the APC.

Though, the source refused mentioning the names of the two PDP Senatorial candidates likely to move to the APC with Jarma, indications have emerged that they have been his known loyalists even from the onset.

While on a fact finding mission to the personal residence of Jarma, it was like a Mecca of sort for legions of his supporters with many groups coming to declare allegiance to him.

As at the time of filing this report, it is yet to be ascertained who the two  PDP Senatorial candidates likely to defect to the APC with Jarman Sokoto are, however, pundits have over time continued to point fingers at the current deputy governor, Manir Dan’Iya, who is seen by many as a political godson of Jarma and the Senatorial candidate of PDP in Sokoto North Senatorial District.

Manir is slated to slug it out with former governor Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko who is the current APC Senatorial candidate for Sokoto North Senatorial candidate and who is recontesting for a third term in office.

Senator Wamakko is the current Senate committee chairman on Defence and deputy chairman on anti-corruption, and strongly loved by locals in the Sokoto State.
