Bauchi Governor goes to America for parley with UN Chief

Gov. Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar of Bauchi State

The executive governor of Bauchi State, His Excellency, M,A Abubakar, leaves for the United States of America Friday, March 30, 2018 ahead of a parley with the United  Nations Under Secretary for Peace and Conflict Resolution.

The visit, according to a statement by Ali M Ali, the Governor’s Special Adviser, Media and Strategy, is at the instance of the UN Scribe who was reportedly impressed by the prevailing peace in Bauchi state in particular and the North East in general against the backdrop of the receding insurgency that had devastated the geopolitical zone for years.

The parley is expected to result in aid to boost sustainable peace in the state.

Governor Abubakar is also expected to parley with the Governor of the State of Iowa to discuss bilateral issues that would be mutually beneficial.

He is expected back in Nigeria on April 6, 2018.

Among those in his entourage is the state chief of protocol SCOPE, Suleiman Malami, Babayo Liman, the Special Assistant on Peace,Yazid Inuwa and a lone security detail.
