Victor Osimhen scored another goal for Galatasaray before leaving to join the Super Eagles for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, as the Turkish champions defeated Antalyaspor 4-1 in the Super Lig on Saturday.
The Nigerian striker scored Galatasaray’s third goal in the 56th minute, taking his total to 12 goals in 16 appearances in all competitions this season. Osimhen showed his pace by collecting a pass from Yunus Akgun, cutting in from the left wing and finishing calmly past goalkeeper Abdullah Yigiter.
Galatasaray made a strong start to the match, going 2-0 up within the first 15 minutes through goals from Leroy Sane and Roland Sallai. Osimhen’s strike, his sixth in the Super Lig this season, effectively ended the contest.
Antalyaspor pulled one goal back in the 69th minute, but Mauro Icardi sealed the win with a late goal for the visitors. The result keeps Galatasaray top of the Super Lig table after 16 matches, five points clear of second-placed Trabzonspor, who face Besiktas on Sunday.
Osimhen will now turn his attention to international duty with Nigeria at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco. The Super Eagles are drawn in Group C alongside Tunisia, Uganda and Tanzania, and will begin their campaign against Tanzania on December 23.
