Super Eagles head coach Eric Sekou Chelle has named a provisional squad of 31 players for next month’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and South Africa.
The list includes captain William Troost-Ekong, goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, defenders Ola Aina and Calvin Bassey, midfielders Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi, and forwards Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman and Moses Simon.
Fifteen-year-old goalkeeper Ebenezer Harcourt is the youngest name on the list, while Bright Osayi-Samuel, Bruno Onyemaechi, Raphael Onyedika, Frank Onyeka, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Sadiq Umar and Nathan Tella are also included.
Young defender Benjamin Frederick makes the cut alongside Felix Agu, Igoh Ogbu, Christantus Uche and Cyriel Dessers, who all impressed at the Unity Cup in London earlier this year. Goalkeeper Adeleye Adebayo, defender Chidozie Awaziem and striker Terem Moffi also return.
Nigeria, who sit fourth in their qualifying group, will host Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, on Saturday, 6 September, before travelling to Bloemfontein to face South Africa on Tuesday, 9 September.
The Super Eagles’ camp will officially open in Uyo on Monday, 1 September.
