Christmas reminds us of God’s love for humanity… Gov Inuwa Yahaya

Gombe State Governor, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya has called on the Christian Community in the State to uphold the virtues of compassion, tolerance and love as exemplified by Jesus Christ.

The Governor in his Christmas and New year goodwill message to the people of the State urged the Christian community to use the period to pray for peace, security and prosperity of the state as well as an end to the global pandemic of COVID-19.

The goodwill message which was made available to newsmen by the Governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Ismaila Uba Misilli, said “This period reminds us of God’s love for humanity and the need to uphold the virtues of compassion, tolerance and love as exemplified by Jesus Christ.

“I also call on all of us to reflect on the lessons of the season, which presents an opportunity to love and share.

“On this significant occasion of Christmas, I extend my best wishes to the Christian community and all citizens of the country”, the statement said.

The Governor who called for prayers for peace, security and an end to Covid-19, assured of his administration’s commitment to continue to initiate and execute policies and programmes that will impact on the lives of the citizenry and promote unity and peaceful coexistence in the state.

Part of the Governor’s message reads thus; “although this year’s celebration is coming at a period the world is still grappling with the novel coronavirus and its devastating impact on lives and means of livelihood of the people, such should not deter us from imbibing the good lessons of the season”.

“I urge us all to continue to pray fervently for an end to the pandemic. And as we pray and celebrate, we must also continue to keep safe and adhere strictly to the laid down COVID-19 protocols and guidelines, especially in view of the resurgence of the pandemic”.
